It’s actually mind-boggling to think there are people living in this world, who do NOT recycle! So many research articles, books, and even movies, have been made to educate people about issues such as global warming, climate change and the NEED to reduce, reuse and recycle.
I’m sure there are thousands of people on this planet who don’t think it matters what one person does. (ie. What’s one person sorting their recyclables from their garbage gonna realistically do for the planet? Isn’t this what everyone who doesn’t recycle thinks?) Pause for a second and think about this: If everyone felt this way, our landfills would be FILLED with garbage AND recyclable materials. If those people started recycling tomorrow, a change would definitely be seen throughout the landfills.
If someone (ie. a municipality) is willing to pick up your recyclables with no added cost, why aren’t you saving up those empty pop cans and water bottles? How difficult is it to throw some cans into a bag or box and set it out at the curb once a week? Do you want to recycle, but are too lazy? Is it too time-consuming to fit into your daily schedule? These questions must be answered!
We cannot continue filling our dumps with recyclables that can be used for other purposes, or we won’t have anywhere left to fill! If you neglect the environment now, it will affect our children’s futures!
